Essence of Muthuraja
Our community members are settled in and around Uraiyur, headquarters of the early Chola kings. We ruled Cholamandalam for 300 years with the help of Pallava dynasty. We had matrimonial alliances with Pandyas, who are also known as Maha Rayas. The Valavans are a sub-caste in our community in Tamil Nadu today. We are traditional friends of Brahmins.
